Muna Poncho

The Muna poncho is made from matka silk and cotton with a trim of handwoven cotton dhaka. The matka silk and cotton fabric was handloomed by a weaver in her Bhaktapur home, while the cotton dhaka was handwoven in Taplejung, eastern Nepal.  This poncho design brings together two ancient weaving techniques from different groups. It was sewn in the city by a small team of women.
