Foothills Hemp and Cotton Rug

These Foothill rugs are a combination of Himalayan hemp and unprocessed cotton. The hemp threads are sourced from western Nepal where they are handspun and shipped to Kathmandu, the largest and capital city, known to be the meeting place of most cultural groups. Here, many young, creative artisans are using traditional knowledge and tools to make thoughtful, modern textiles from these natural materials including these hand-loomed rugs.
