Beth Basco Bowl
$30.00Price
This Beth Basco Bowl is made in the Tarrai, from what Nepalese refer to as 'Beth' bamboo. Beth is known for its bend-ability and therefore is often used in furniture making. The artistan slices the poles into long, narrow spilts and intricately folds and weaves them into this beautiful shape.
The Tarrai region is located in the south and runs from all the way east to west. It's known for its sprawling flatlands and jungles and therefore its grasses: elephant grass, sea grass, and bamboo (also a grass!). The locals have utilized these resources to create useful goods for centuries.
