Basco Loose Leaf Tea Strainer

This handwoven bamboo tea strainer was created by a shepard in the Himalayan foothills. While out with his animals, this artisan cuts poles of a bamboo called nigalo, slices it with a sharp knife into long, thin splits, then intricately weaves together tiny versions of  baskets, specifically to hold loose leaf tea in your mug. It's an impressive  craft and an important one that generates income for subsistence farmers relying one soley their crops and animals for food.
