Anandi Dress

The Anandi (meaning bliss in Nepali) dress is made from organic cotton. It was handwoven by a weaver in her Bhaktapur home, then naturally dyed by a mom and daughter team in Kakani, and finally designed and sewn in the city by a small team of women. This style is called 'eco-print' where leafs and flowers are collected and laid onto fabric that is then tightly bundled, then put into a steamer. The flora release color pigments leaving prints of thier shapes on the fabric.
